Twenty years of preventive medicine. One consistent frustration.

Dr. Scott Everson spent two decades watching the same pattern repeat: patients managing the consequences of conditions that could have been intercepted years earlier. A 50-year-old with rising HbA1c and visceral fat, coached on lifestyle until the labs crossed a diagnostic threshold. A 45-year-old with declining free testosterone and fatigue, told the numbers were “still in range.” A 48-year-old perimenopausal patient with disrupted sleep and mood shifts, told to try yoga. The system does what it was designed to do — intervene at the point of disease. What it does not do is ask why those symptoms developed, or what could have been done years earlier to prevent them from arriving at all.

Empower Med is his answer. A practice built around depth, directness, and the long game. Every patient gets a physician — not a protocol, not a platform, not a prescription forwarding service. A board-certified physician with 20 years of clinical experience who has staked his own medical license and his own DEA registration on every protocol he writes.

“The system isn’t designed to keep people healthy — it’s designed to treat them when they’re sick. Empower Med is what happens when a physician decides to prove otherwise.”

Training and specialization.

Dr. Everson holds a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree and a Master of Public Health. He is board certified in Preventive Medicine — the specialty dedicated to the early interception of decline, not the management of disease after it arrives. Most physicians who eventually work in longevity medicine arrive there from primary care, internal medicine, or family practice. Preventive medicine has been his core specialty for 20 years. For him, longevity care isn’t an interest added to a primary-care practice. It is the practice.

Personal license. Personal accountability.

Dr. Everson is personally responsible for every protocol he writes. He holds his own license in Virginia. He carries his own DEA registration for controlled substances. He reads every lab personally. He designs every protocol himself. He answers his own messages — not a patient coordinator, not a triage nurse, not a template bot. When he says “physician-supervised,” it is literally true in the most direct sense possible.

One physician. One practice.

Empower Med is a solo physician practice by design. The capacity is intentionally small. Every patient gets the same depth of physician attention. Growth is paced to preserve that attention, not to maximize patient count. This is the opposite of the platform-telehealth model — and it’s the reason patients choose Empower Med over clinics that structurally can’t deliver continuity.

Potomac Shores / Dumfries, Virginia. Virtual consultations.

The practice is based in Potomac Shores / Dumfries, Virginia and delivers care entirely via virtual consultations. Dr. Everson is licensed in Virginia. The physician-direct relationship is the product — not physical presence in a waiting room. Virtual is how patients reach Dr. Everson; it is not what defines the care.

What the practice is built around

Continuity. Specialization. Personal oversight.

Continuity

The same physician from intake through ongoing care.

The physician who reviews your first lab is the same physician who writes your protocol, adjusts your care, and reviews your follow-up labs. Not a rotating provider. Not a lab-review handoff. One physician holding the full picture.

Specialization

Preventive medicine is the core, not a side service.

Twenty years of board-certified focus on preventive medicine — the specialty built around early interception of decline, metabolic health, hormonal optimization, and cardiovascular-risk management.

Personal oversight

Every protocol by his own hand.

Dr. Everson personally designs every clinical protocol, orders every lab, reviews every result, and manages every treatment plan. No delegated decision-making, no template protocols, no software-generated prescriptions.

Direct access

He answers his own messages.

Every patient has direct physician access. Not a patient coordinator. Not a triage nurse. Not an AI intake flow. The physician. Scale and care are in tension; this practice chose care.

“When you work with Empower Med, you are not buying access to a medication. You are buying a physician relationship.”

With someone who has spent 20 years in preventive medicine and built an entire practice around the conviction that decline is not inevitable.
